This course, in conjunction with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Institute for Digital Health & Innovation, delivers comprehensive methods for designing, developing, and implementing educational and clinical services using digital health technologies. It is designed to broaden the connection of healthcare professionals and facilities to enhance and improve patient care.
The program emphasizes building partnerships between medical centers and local healthcare providers, selecting appropriate technologies, managing technical operations, developing educational programs, and marketing clinical services. Participants will observe techniques utilized by UAMS faculty and staff, telecommunications specialists, and local healthcare professionals. The course also includes site visits to locations supported by the UAMS Digital Health Network.
Participants will be able to:
1. Describe how to evaluate the health care needs of communities.
2. Determine the model for partnership between health professionals.
3. Select needs that lend themselves to Digital Health solutions.
4. Evaluate different types of Digital Health technology.
5. Describe how administrative, technical, teaching, and medical staff work together.
6. Outline the development of continuing education programs using interactive technologies.
