Upcoming USTTI Webinars: October 29th and 30th

In collaboration with The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and ICANN, the USTTI will offer two new webinars on Thursday October 29th and Friday October 30th. Descriptions for these two programs can be found below and we look forward to your attendance.

USTTI – FCC: Introduction to the Role of the Federal Communication Commission’s International Bureau and the Importance of Collaboration

This webinar will provide the participant with a thorough understanding of the vital work of the Federal Communications Commission’s International Bureau. Taught by Thomas Sullivan, the Bureau’s Chief, provided will be an in-depth explanation of the Bureau’s organization, its responsibilities, how the Agency is coping with the effects of the current coronavirus pandemic, and importantly, the Bureau’s extensive outreach efforts toward relationship building with developing countries around the globe. The session will be interactive with opportunity to pose questions and gain valuable insight.

USTTI – ICANN: “ICANN and the DNS: A Broad Overview of the DNS Ecosystem: Components, Security, and Policy”

This 2-hour webinar organized by ICANN will focus on the global coordination of the Internet’s system of unique identifiers, including IP addresses and domain names. You’ll learn about how the technical underpinnings of the Internet work, including the DNS and the root server system. You will also learn about current threats to the DNS ecosystem, and how all stakeholders should protect themselves from these threats. Finally, you will get an overview of how policy related to the coordination of Internet’s system of unique identifiers are defined within the ICANN ecosystem, and how you can get involved and link them back to your local communities and stakeholders.
