The 5G, OpenRan, and Emerging Technologies training sequence evaluates the policy, technology, and security requirements for deploying and adopting these technologies.
The trainings will cover the latest developments on 5G while describing the different aspects of the mobile broadband ecosystem. Participants will learn about policies and regulations that foster the deployment of broadband networks while also focusing on the standards development process.
A technical explanation of Open Radio Access Networks (OpenRAN) and the way they are accelerating innovation. The training will highlight how open, interoperable, standards-based, and virtualized radio access networks offer an alternative to traditional cellular network architecture while enabling a diversity in suppliers, better network security, and lower costs. The courses will also highlight the role Open RAN can play in promoting operator choice, vendor competition, and more investment in innovation. Detailed exploration of an Open Ran Policy Roadmap will be undertaken along with an examination of case studies showing real-world examples of what policy steps the United States and governments around the world are taking to make the use of Open Ran a reality.
The training will also present an overview of artificial intelligence (AI), hardware-to-software capabilities, and real-world applications across multiple usage scenarios. It will cover the emerging policy and regulatory activities guiding the future of AI development and deployment as they interact with concepts of privacy, trustworthiness, and cybersecurity.
