Instead of building a costly training center, the USTTI offers its tuition-free training in corporate and federal training facilities, laboratories, television stations and studios that are volunteered for USTTI training across the United States. Within these training facilities, USTTI participants receive first-hand exposure to the latest technologies. The photos below, were taken during a variety of hands-on USTTI training sessions and demonstrate the opportunity that USTTI participants have to interact with cutting-edge technologies and with their colleagues from around the world.

2016 Training Year

USTTI Scholars participating in the GSMA’s, “Advanced Spectrum Management for Mobile Telecommunications” training session addressed the principles of national, regional and international spectrum planning, while also conducting an intensive discussion of spectrum licensing. GSMA is represented on the USTTI Board of Directors by Belinda Exelby, Head of International Relations for the GSMA.

On an annual basis the NTIA’s “Radio Frequency Spectrum Management” Training introduces official to spectrum management principles, national spectrum planning and policy and engineering analysis. In 2016, USTTI scholars from Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, El Salvador, Gambia, Georgia, Honduras, Jamaica, Jordan, Liberia, Malawi, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, South Sudan, Tunisia, The United Arab Emirates and Vietnam participated in the two week session that is led by NTIA’s, Eric Rosenberg (standing far left). The NTIA is represented on the USTTI Board of Directors by the Assistant Secretary for Communications and Information within the Department of Commerce.
