March 31, 2008
26th Training Year
On March 28, 2008 the USTTI’s 26th year of training began with a group of 24 officials from 15 countries attending “Radio Frequency Spectrum Management,” sponsored by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). This course is the first of four courses offered in our popular Spectrum Management sequence and takes place in Washington, DC. To date we have received 4,777 applications from 109 countries for USTTI’s 88 course curriculum. To enhance your opportunity of participating in USTTI training this year, we encourage you to submit your completed application as soon as possible.
USTTI e-Government Training Sequence
USTTI is gearing up for its first e-Government training sequence. While we are in our fourth year of collaboration with USAID on the successful “e-Government for Development: Strategies and Policies” seminar, 2008 marks the first year we have paired another course with this highly successful seminar. While it is not required to take part in both courses, USTTI and our trainers thought that many officials would also benefit from attending “Applying 21st Century ICT in Emerging Markets.” We encourage you to read the course descriptions and submit your completed online application immediately if you are interested in joining us for either session.
The USTTI is pleased to announce the appointment of our newest staff member Mr. Alfred Shikany. Alfred is a recent graduate of Yale University where he majored in Political Science and was a four year member of the Men’s Rowing Team. Alfred’s administrative skills and work ethic make him a great addition to the USTTI team.
