2004 Chairman's Awards
Each year, the USTTI Chairman and Board of Directors honor individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the USTTI's goal of global growth through communications sharing. The USTTI Chairman's Award reflects their invaluable and relentless efforts on behalf of the USTTI and it 6,741
graduates in 164 developing countries.

Dr. Edward M. Malloy
In recognition of more than a decade of dedicated service on behalf of the
USTTI and its 6,741 graduates throughout the developing world, USTTI
Chairman Ambassador Michael R. Gardner (left) presents the 2004 Chairman's
Award to Dr. Edward M. Malloy (right), Telecommunications and Information
Policy Advisor for the United States Agency for International Development
(USAID). Each year USAID recognizes the value of USTTI training by
providing essential travel and subsistence funding support for qualified
USTTI applicants who would otherwise be unable to participate in USTTI
training. Through Dr. Malloy's efforts and those of USAID Missions
throughout the world, 1,929 women and men from nearly 100 developing
countries have participated in USTTI training through USAID scholarship
assistance - one-third of all USTTI graduates since 1982.

After being presented with the 2004 USTTI Chairman’s Award, Dr. Milenko Stojkovic (left), Director of Telecommunications Policy and Regulatory Affairs (retired) at Intelsat Global Service Corporation remarks on his extensive collaboration with USTTI as an Intelsat volunteer professor. Each year USTTI Chairman Ambassador Michael R. Gardner (right) selects a representative from both industry and government who have demonstrated energetic and dedicated support of the USTTI and our developing country scholars. In addition to working with USTTI on numerous special seminars and initiatives, Dr. Stojkovic has been an integral part of Intelsat’s USTTI training outreach for the past 15 years, sharing his and Intelsat’s satellite communications experiences with 229 women and men from 78 countries.
